Video Works
Experimental video production is often a staple of my classes. Starting from my haymarket RIOT core practice, I instruct the students in classical montage, metric, rhythmic composition. This encompasses both conventional as well as synthetic cinema (machinima made from game engines) styles. The Drifts are exercises in which studetns are asked to examine the environment around them with no particular goal in the vein of Debord and the Situationists. The Machinima work is the culmination of the Virtual Art course in which an avatar is built and placed in an environment - Codi's work was set to Bananarama's "Venus" (allowed for obvious appropriation value).
